Glad to Chime in...
I purchased a half dozen of these "things" from Elderly Guitars. I supposed I should have put my glasses on or taken a smart pill but at the time I thought they were wood! Anyway, the return shipping for half a dozen was quite expensive. I figured someday I would do something with them. One of them wound up in Lance's backyard.
Elderly told me that these realy are actual MACAFERRI GUITARS - not just "in their style". It was apparantly Macaferri's attempt to break into the "low" end market. I also seem to remember being told they were made in the late 60's to early 70's. Obviously not a huge success. They are interesting and the plastic body in the right light does look like wood ( for what ever that is worth). The bodies are usable and and a playable instrument can be achieved with some ingenuity and hard work. If not for anything else it Looks nice hanging on the wall...ask Sylvan...he's got one.
